What does “family” mean to you and who belongs in yours?
Family means having the freedom to build a life that reflects who you truly are. Our family was created through love, intention, courage, and choice. I became a parent to two sons during different chapters and in different ways, one naturally and one through a donor journey, both are equally loved, equally wanted, and equally part of my heart. Alongside our dog and cat, we have built a home rooted in resilience, comfort, healing, and unconditional love. Family is not defined by sameness; it is defined by connection, commitment, and choosing one another every single day.

What advice would you give to your younger self, or someone struggling to feel seen?
I would tell my younger self that life does not always unfold the way you imagined, and that is not a failure. Some of the most beautiful parts of life arrive later, through unexpected chapters, honesty, and courage. Family, love, and belonging are not limited to one definition. One day you will find yourself building a life grounded in authenticity, connection, healing, and the kind of love that feels like finally coming home.
