What does “family” mean to you and who belongs in yours?
Family are the people you hold close in your life. For myself, this has and always been my parents, my two children and recently my partner.Family members who are always there for you regardless of your preferred definition of members in your heart. You rely on them the same as they rely on you. A mutual love, respect and dedication that is always present.
If your family had a theme song, what would it be?
A theme song I could wrap my family in would be Imagine by John Lennon. My parents were amazing people to everyone they had shared time with in their lives including the family they were upbringing. Amazing in their own for who they were. Love was never scarce. Friends and family were close.
What’s one word you’d use to describe yourself, and why?
One word how I would describe myself would need to be Bright. I’m am a very proud transgender woman. I am not female but in all honest terms, I am still a woman; I am the bright light that I have always needed to be.

What snack best represents your personality?
Myself as a snack?… lol How about, wasabi flavoured almonds! A powerful combination of ingredients that are nothing less than amazing that really takes your attention.
What advice would you give to your younger self, or someone struggling to feel seen?
My best advice to be authentic and recognized as the person you really are is to be patient. Coming out as who you are in this life is never an easy task. Take your time, exercise baby steps before you learn how to run. Be honest to yourself and find heartfelt support. There is always someone for everyone that will help you in your life journey. Show them who you are, gently. Even family and close friends will need time as well. Embrace yourself first. Find your people, let them in, let them love you.
Dealer’s choice: what would you like to share with everyone?
Being a transgender woman in a world that has more non acceptance and negative views is a difficult life. But also very rewarding. Being true to yourself in your heart is where you find the truest of happiness regardless of what others may say or see. There is only one life to live. A gift in this world to experience. ‘Living in Life’ with authenticity is a ‘Life worth Living’ in any form you find.
