Truth & Reconciliation

Key City Theatre acknowledges the long history of harm and violence and that has been brought to indigenous communities from centuries of European colonization.

We honour the survivors of the residential school system, their families, and communities. While past harms can never be undone, it is critical to ensure that the pain caused by past and ongoing colonial actions are fully acknowledged, challenged and ended.

Key City Theatre is committed to supporting and presenting public discourse and education to acknowledge the truth.  We are committed to offering an open space and our efforts and energies as a place of gathering, healing, and reclamation.

We also acknowledge that our dialogue is not confined to one day, but encompasses changes on how we must approach every day.

We invite our community to learn with us, to be part of dialogue, and to change.

Key City is grateful to live and carry out our work on the traditional and ancestral lands of the Ktunaxa Peoples, and we strive to celebrate the history, traditions and language of the Ktunaxa Peoples. We strive to celebrate the Métis and many diverse Indigenous Peoples that live on these lands.
