Stories from the Community

Back when I was running the Cranbrook Pride Table at the festival, there was a point where a family came up to us, they had a small child with them that was very shy, parents helped them collect some goodies for the table, and as they were walking away, the child doubled back, came up behind me and gave me a hug. That’s kinda stuck with me, the Children’s Festival shows support and care for the kids of our community, which they need as many allies as they can get out there. The adult world is less than great for us, let alone the little ones that are unable to stand up or fend for themselves a lot of the time. It’s a good reminder that we should be trying to make our society a better place for those that come after us, lightening the burdens of existence wherever we possibly can.
