Get to know Kayla & Paula:

Kayla (She/her)

I am a mother, partner, friend, daughter, sister, writer, artist and feminist. I’m a lover of tacos, the tv show FRIENDS, and all people, places and things that can make a person feel safe. I enjoy cleaning and organizing, probably a little too much. I love to dance, mostly in my kitchen though. I am weird, but weird is rad. I love to laugh, it’s seriously the best medicine. I am a member of the LGBTQ+ community who identifies as gay, lesbian, queer. It wasn’t always easy to say that though. It took me a long time to open up about my sexuality. I remember my first girl crush like it was yesterday, even though it was 30 years ago now. I may have only been 10 years old but I was in love or at least what I thought was love. I can honestly say I really didn’t know what real love was until I met my partner, Paula. She is my lobster, the jam to my toast  and the woman I’m so lucky to be doing this life with.

I am a daughter, step-mother, partner, friend, sister, dog mom, comedian, entrepreneur and electrician. I’m a lover of anything in the outdoors; especially hiking and fishing. I have a passion for renewable energy and sustainability. I love tools. I jokingly like to say that’s the reason I like to find new hobbies because it means I get more tools. My newest hobby is wood working. Maybe eventually a side business. I like to stay busy. When I’m not working, I’m working. That’s the joys of owning and operating my own business. In saying that though, the last few years has taught me that family is first and then work. I was lucky enough to find an amazing woman with amazing kids and have an instant family. Kayla truly is the person I’ve been searching for my whole life. I couldn’t ask for a better partner to enjoy this wild ride with. I feel honoured to be the jam to her toast.
