Wonder Women

Presented by Key City Theatre

Acclaimed pianist Sarah Hagen brings the extraordinary music and remarkable stories of overlooked women composers vividly to life.

Behind the familiar history of classical music lies another story—one filled with brilliant women whose music deserves to be heard.

In Wonder Women!, acclaimed Canadian pianist and storyteller Sarah Hagen celebrates the remarkable lives and works of women composers from the 18th and 19th centuries. Through vivid storytelling and expressive live performance, Hagen introduces audiences to artists who created extraordinary music despite the social and professional barriers placed before them.

Featuring music by composers including Clara Schumann and Cécile Chaminade, this engaging program restores overlooked voices to their rightful place at the piano. Hagen’s warmth, humour and gift for connecting music with the human stories behind it make the concert welcoming for devoted classical listeners and curious newcomers alike.

Part recital and part storytelling, Wonder Women! is a moving celebration of creativity, resilience and music that has waited far too long to be heard.
