Serena Ryder's Christmas Kisses Tour to Stop at Cranbrook’s Key City Theatre in December

Serena Ryder first gained National recognition with her hit ballad “Weak in the Knees” in 2007, and is an accomplished songwriter, singer, and musician who possesses a three octave vocal range.

Ryder’s music has been influenced by genres ranging from R&B, jazz, folk, country, classical and blues. She says that her influences include Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Ella Fitzgerald, Roger Miller, Hank Williams, John Prine, Paul Simon, Lina Ronstad, Buddy Holly, Stevie Nicks, Neil Young, and the Rolling Stones just to name a few. In addition to her incredible vocal talents, she plays guitar, piano, mandolin, ukulele, harmonica, banjo, clarinet, drums, and bass.

In April of 2008, Ryder received her first Juno Award for Canada’s Best New Artist of the Year, and then in 2009 she won another Juno for Adult Alternative Album of the Year for her album “Is it Ok.” Again in 2010, a song from that album, “Little Bit of Red”, scored the Juno for Best Video of the year. Her career was well on its way to the top. That same year she joined the lineup of Lilith Fair and the very next year she toured with Melissa Etheridge right across Canada playing to sold out crowds.

Ryder’s song “Broken Heart Sun”, was performed as a duet, and a recording was released on her EP ‘Live" and she performed the song with Etheridge at the Juno’s that same year. Ryder released the album, Harmony, in late November of 2012. The first single, “Stompa”, was used in an episode of ABC television’s Grey’s Anatomy and it quickly climbed the charts, and became certified platinum in 2013.

Ryder became the very first Canadian artist to be Number one on CBC’s Radio 2 Top 20 Chart. “Stompa" was being played in four different radio station formats: Modern Rock, Hot AC, Top 40, and Adult Contemporary.

In July of 2013 she appeared on the Tonight show with Jay Leno, and just before that performed live at the Calgary Stampede. 2014 was another huge Year for Ryder. She performed O Canada at the NBA All Star Game, and she co-hosted the Juno Awards where she also won Artist of the Year and Songwriter of the Year.

In June of 2017, she released her sixth studio album “Utopia”. The first single from the album was the much acclaimed “Electric Love.” 2018 was another busy year for the Canadian songstress. She did a duet with Brett Kissel at the CCMA awards in Hamilton which was hosted by Shania Twain, and shortly thereafter she started hosting her own

radio program on CHFI-FM which was rebroadcast across Canada

In October last year she released her first holiday album called "Christmas Kisses" and that is the title of her latest tour for 2019.The tour will feature songs from that holiday album as well as a mixture of her popular hit music.
